Chandigarh/Malerkotla (Aaj Samaj)Punjab Minister of Mining and Geology, Water Resources and Land and Water Conservation Barinder Kumar Goyal today urged the representatives of the newly elected Gram Panchayats to carry out development works in the villages in a fair and impartial manner, overcoming factionalism and following advice and needs. The general public requested its implementation in a transparent manner. He said priority should be given to ending factionalism in the villages and hard work should be done to strengthen the spirit of peace and harmony.

Cabinet Minister Barinder Kumar Goyal today administered oath to 1186 Panches along with MLA Jaswant Singh Gajjan Majra and MLA Dr Jamil ur Rehman. He said that as per the call of former Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party coordinator Arvind Kejriwal, village council meetings should be organized and all decisions should be taken in the presence of people to ensure transparency in development works. .

He said it is the moral responsibility of the village councils to stop misuse of financial resources and spend them wisely for the all-round development of the villages. He called for working closely with the Punjab government to ensure all-round development of the villages and maintain harmony and peace. He said there will be no shortage of funds for village development.

He appealed to the Panchayat representatives to understand their social and moral responsibilities and work with transparency and contribute in changing the destiny of the villages. He said that the government will give him all its support in every noble task.
