Punjab News (Aaj Samaj), Chandigarh: State Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema assured the members of the employee unions that all their reasonable demands will be resolved. The Finance Minister said that the state government supports the employees and our effort is that our government does not take anti-employee decisions like those taken by previous governments.
During this, the Finance Minister said he assured the representatives of Punjab AIDS Control Employees Welfare Association that after consultation with various banks, necessary life insurance cover will be provided to the employees of the society. . He gave this assurance during a meeting with Punjab State Employees Group, Computer Teachers Union and Punjab AIDS Control Employees Welfare Association at his office.

Insured to resolve pensioners’ claims
Finance Minister Cheema asked Finance Department officials to assess the financial responsibility of certain claims relating to employees and pensioners. He highlighted that the Punjab government, led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, is committed to the welfare of the employees of the state. He said despite many financial challenges, the government recently decided to give employees a 4 per cent dearness allowance.

The computer science teachers union also raised the issue.
The computer science teachers’ unions have raised pending issues for many years. Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema assured the union that the present Punjab government is doing everything possible to ensure that such decisions are not taken for the welfare of employees, which could lead them to face legal cases such as previous governments. After seriously considering all the union’s demands, he assured that their reasonable demands will be sympathetically considered.
