Finance Minister Started Kabaddi Competitions Under Khedan Watan Punjab Diya
Punjab (Aaj Samaj) News Update, Chandigarh: Punjab Government Cabinet Minister Harpal Singh Cheema said that sports have an important contribution in eradicating drug addiction from the society and our government is trying to keep Punjabis away from such bad habits through these sports. He said that along with these sports, his government also makes other tireless efforts to eradicate drugs.
He was speaking while conducting state level National Kabaddi style competitions under Kheda Watan Punjab Diyan Season 3 from Shaheed Bachan Singh Sports Stadium. Speaking on the occasion, Cabinet Minister Harpal Singh Cheema said that this third season of these games, initiated by the Punjab government headed by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann with an objective to connect the people of the state with sports culture , continues successfully.

Efforts to provide better facilities to players
On this occasion, the Finance Minister said that to provide better facilities to the players, an indoor stadium for 11 sports is being constructed at Shaheed Bachan Singh Stadium in Didba. He said that an amount of Rs 7 crore has been sanctioned for this indoor stadium which will be equipped with world-class facilities and its construction work will begin very soon.
Under this Kabaddi Mahakumbh game, the female players’ matches will be held from today until November 18, while the male players’ matches will be held from November 19 to 21. It may be noted that under the Hykheda Watan Punjab Diyanhan, state weightlifting competitions have already started in Sunam, while state Wushu and roller skating competitions are also being organized in Sangrur.
