Sangrur Lok Sabha member Meet Hayer has written a letter to Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar, who is also the chancellor of the university, on the issue of not holding Panjab University Senate elections.

We are lying. At that time a resolution was also passed in the Punjab Assembly against the centralization of Panjab University, Chandigarh.

Democracy is being strangled
Meet Hayer said that now again democracy is being strangled by not holding elections for the Senate that governs the university. Reiterating the state government’s commitment on the issues of Punjab, Punjabi and Punjabiyat, Meet Hayer has demanded immediate intervention of the Vice President in this matter.
