What are the admission criteria?
Each school has established different criteria for admission to kindergarten. The most important criterion among them is the distance to the house. Some schools have also prepared special criteria for Sikh and Christian minorities, economically weaker sections and parents with physical disabilities.
Private and recognized unaided schools have come up with a point system for admission, where 30 to 100 points will be awarded based on various criteria. Most schools have given ratings of 30 to 90 for neighborhoods and remote areas. If the distance between school and home is 6 kilometers or less, the child will earn 50 points for Neighborhood. At the same time, if the distance is 6 to 8 kilometers, 40 points will be awarded, and for the distance from 8 to 15 kilometers, 30 points will be prescribed.
