RCB Team
The RCB team has been playing in IPL since 2008 and the team has players like Virat Kohli, AB de Villiers, Chris Gayle and Mohammed Siraj. But the team has not been able to win the title even once. RCB reached the final three times, but always had to face defeat. Now, to win the title in IPL 2025, RCB has adopted the best strategy and has appointed Omkar Salvi as the bowling coach.
He won three major titles in the last 8 months.
Omkar Salvi previously worked as an assistant coach with the Kolkata Knight Riders team and won the IPL 2024 title with the KKR team. He has won Ranji Trophy, Irani Trophy and IPL titles in the last 8 months. Omkar is currently the coach of the Mumbai cricket team and his tenure will end in March 2025. He will later join RCB.
Karthik appointed batting coach
Earlier, RCB had appointed batsman Dinesh Karthik as their batting coach and mentor for the IPL 2025 season. Omkar Salvi and Karthik have also worked together before. He keeps a low profile and gives free rein to the players. Omkar, 46, has coaching experience. Now it remains to be seen whether things will change for the RCB franchise under his leadership or not. He played only one List A match in his career, in which he managed to take only one wicket.
RCB has retained 3 players
RCB has retained three players in retention from IPL 2025. These include Virat Kohli (Rs 21 crore), Rajat Patidar (Rs 11 crore) and uncapped Yash Dayal (Rs 5 crore). RCB can use three RTMs for the IPL mega auction. There are still 83 million rupees left in his bag.
Virat is the backbone of the RCB team and has won many matches for the team on his own. He is the highest run scorer in IPL. He has scored 8004 runs in IPL. Rajat Patidar and Yash Dayal have also performed well for RCB.
