Rishabh Pant Sold at Lucknow Super Giants: The mega auction for the 2025 season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) has begun. This auction will take place on November 24-25 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. On the first day, all eyes were on star batsman Rishabh Pant. Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) bought him with a huge offer of Rs 27 crore.
Pant was the captain of Delhi Capitals (DC) last season. He was not retained by the Delhi team. In such a situation, Pant entered the auction for the first time after 2016. Although the Delhi team had used the RTM card rule for Pant, in the end the Lucknow team bought Pant by making a long bid.
There was a tough fight between these teams over Pant
Actually, when Rishabh Pant’s bid reached Rs 20.75 crore, Delhi Capitals used the RTM card. However, Lucknow Super Giants increased the offer to Rs 27 crore. Delhi Capitals again showed no interest in doing RTM for Pant.
There was a fierce bidding for Pant between Lucknow Super Giants and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). After this Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) entered. The bid between the two went up to Rs 20.75 crore. After all, this offer was made by the Lucknow team itself. But due to RTM rules, they had to buy Pant for Rs 27 crore.
