Rohat Bal’s business empire was very big. In 1986, together with his brother they opened the company ‘Orchid Overseas Private Limited’. This was an export business. He later opened stores under his own name. His first independent collection arrived in 1990.
When the Khadi Village Industries Commission planned to make ‘Khadi’ a designer, Rohit Bal first connected with Ritu Beri. Not only this, Rohit was one of the founding members of the Fashion Design Council of India.
His business empire not only includes fashion stores but also restaurants such as ‘Veda’ and ‘Cibo’. Rohit Bal was a Kashmiri by birth. His family migrated from Srinagar to Delhi in the 1970s. After this they stayed here. According to media reports, his net worth is around $5 million.
