It is a matter of the next few hours and the Indian team will leave to face its next challenge. The next station for the Indian team, which is facing embarrassment after suffering a clean sweep in the Test series against New Zealand at home, is Australia, where it has to play a 5-Test series. Ahead of this series, there is a constant question whether captain Rohit Sharma will play in the first Test match or not. Rohit will become a father for the second time, so his chances of playing in the first Test are less. Now, Rohit’s wife Ritika Sajdeh has made that comment in an online post, indicating that the captain may not go to Australia with the team.
The Border-Gavaskar Trophy will begin in Australia from November 22, and Team India will depart in two different groups on November 10 and 11. The first Test of the series will be played in Perth and there are doubts about Rohit’s game in it. After Team India’s loss in the last Test match against New Zealand in Mumbai, Rohit had said in the press conference that he was not sure whether he would be able to play the first Test or not.
Ritika commented
Former Australian opener Aaron Finch supported the Indian captain on the possibility of Rohit not being able to play in the first Test due to the birth of a child. He said during a television program that at that moment it is very important to be with the family. Now Rohit’s wife Ritika has given her reaction to this statement of Finch. A journalist posted this statement of Finch on Instagram, in which Ritika commented and congratulated Finch for his statement. Ritika posted a ‘greeting’ emoji in the comment and tagged Finch.

Gavaskar had demanded
Actually, this statement by Finch came in response to a comment by former Indian captain Sunil Gavaskar. On the possibility of Rohit being left out of the first Test, Gavaskar had said in an interview that in such a situation, the Indian team should appoint a different captain. Gavaskar had said that after losing the series 3-0, it would have been better if the captain remained with the team from the first Test. Gavaskar was heavily criticized for this statement and even former Australian captain Finch did not consider it correct.
This comment by Ritika has gone quite viral and is considered an indication that Rohit may not take part in the first Test match. However, on Saturday, November 9, some reports claimed that Rohit had told the selectors that he was available to go to Australia with the team. However, even after this it is not clear whether he will be able to play the first Test after arriving in Australia or not.
