Opposition furious over Sambhaal violence

Violence broke out on November 24 over the poll held at Shahi Masjid in Sambhal, Uttar Pradesh. The violence became so intense that 5 people were killed and more than 30 were injured. The injured also included SDM and police officers. Actually, the Hindu side says about the Shahi Mosque that there was a Harihar temple here. A survey was being carried out in this regard, after which violence occurred.

Rahul Gandhi took aim at the BJP

Addressing the BJP, Rahul Gandhi said that the BJP’s use of power to create divisions and discrimination between Hindu-Muslim societies is not in the interest of the State or the country. I request the Supreme Court to intervene in this matter as soon as possible and deliver justice. My call is to maintain peace and mutual harmony. We all have to come together to ensure that India moves forward on the path of unity and the Constitution, not communalism and hatred.

Owaisi demanded strict measures

AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi demanded a debate in the House on the Sambhaal violence. Owaisi has notified the suspension of work. Regarding the violence, Owaisi said, the violence has aggravated the situation, in which 4 people have died. He said there is a need to understand the reason behind this violence and strict action must be taken against the culprits. Owaisi wants the government to clarify the situation in this matter and legal action be taken soon against the culprits.

Furthermore, Owaisi posted and said that we strongly condemn the shooting by Uttar Pradesh Police on people protesting against peace in Sambhal. Three young people died in police shooting. He further said that there should be an impartial investigation into this accident and action should be taken against the responsible officers.

Zia Ur Rehman Burke surrounds UP Police

SP MP Zia ur Rehman Burke said that on the handling of violence, the work was done under a police conspiracy. Murder cases should be filed against police officers when innocent people are killed. When everything was going on peacefully, what need was there to gather a crowd there and raise slogans? I will raise this issue with full force in Parliament.

Chandrashekhar Azad raised the issue in Parliament

Azad Samaj Party MP and national president Chandrashekhar Azad demanded an inquiry into the Sambhal violence. He said the Sambhal riots should be investigated in the Supreme Court. He further said, I raised the Sambhal issue in Parliament, the House was adjourned, but we will raise this issue again. Chandrashekhar Azad also said: I am going to Sambhal to meet the families of the victims.

How violence broke out in Sambhal

Date November 24, 2024 when the survey was conducted at Sambhal Royal Mosque. The Hindu community claims that the mosque was a Harihar temple, following which a survey was carried out at the mosque in the morning. The survey continued smoothly for two hours after which a crowd of people gathered in front of the mosque and then the peaceful atmosphere turned into violence.

After this, the situation became so bad that a huge uproar broke out. The miscreants set vehicles on fire, threw stones at the police and shots were also fired. The police also resorted to lathicharge and lobbed tear gas grenades to control the situation. 5 people died in this violence. For security reasons, internet services have been cut off in the area. Schools have been closed. The police are deployed. In addition, the administration has prohibited the entry of outsiders, social organizations and public representatives to the area until December 1.
