In fact, this case would allegedly be related to the abuse of their position by professors, who made illegal appointments of non-teaching staff while they held administrative positions in 2019. The university has decided to dismiss two professors for irregularities in the hiring of non-teaching staff. teaching in the year 2019. University officials said that this decision has been taken on the basis of an investigation, in which the appointments were made in 2019 ignoring the policy set to regularize non-teaching posts. Following the investigation, the role of both professors in the alleged improper appointments to non-teaching positions has come to light.

What did Ambedkar University say?

A statement issued by Ambedkar University, Delhi said, “The investigation initiated by the Directorate of Higher Education has revealed several irregularities, following which the Board of Management (BoM) of the university constituted an inquiry committee. The investigation report , “after considering the written report and inputs received from the Vigilance Division, the BOM has decided to retire both teachers from service with immediate effect.”

The statement further said that the disciplinary action was taken in accordance with the Central Civil Service (Classification, Control and Appeal) Rules, 1965, which govern the conduct of university employees. However, the teachers involved could not be reached for comment on the allegations. Meanwhile, several student organizations protested on the AUD campus demanding the reinstatement of both professors.
