Singham again – Rohit Shetty was tormented by fear of ‘Singham Again’ failure, couldn’t sleep all night, said – money needed – Singham Again director Rohit Shetty felt nervous due to negative reviews, couldn’t sleep tmova box office

It’s been two weeks since the release of Singham Again, directed by Rohit Shetty, but the grip among fans still persists. The film may not have received a special response from critics, but most of the audience was impressed by the story of the film. Rohit himself says that despite so many years of film career, he still feels nervous before the premiere. Even today, fan reviews matter more to him than box office figures and critics’ comments.

The fear of the answer tormented Rohit

In an exclusive conversation with Aaj Tak, Rohit Shetty said that even before the release of Singham Again, he used to stay up all night. I was so nervous I couldn’t sleep. Rohit said: That’s why I keep worrying and not only stay awake the night before the film, but also stay awake until noon on the day of the film’s release. When reviews come in or we get feedback from our distribution teams or venue owners, that’s when I feel better.

Rohit said he always pays attention to what kind of reaction people give at the ground level. He said movie critics have their own views, but they like to focus on the opinion of movie theater owners and the people who see movies there.

It is important that the public likes it.

Singham Again was well received by audiences, but also received many negative reviews. When asked if this affected him in any way, Rohit Shetty said, “It has been a long journey of making films for more than 20 years. And rarely have my films received good reviews. For me, it is important that people like it. like my films, but if I say that I don’t care about criticism, they will call me a hypocrite.

“However, I think this is something extra for me. People liked the movie and it also got good reactions. This is actually something strange, which affects me, but it is not necessary. I also feel that the reviews are not on the best scale, because my films are usually harsh, commercial and large-scale, so they may not like it.”

money is important

When asked if he cares about box office receipts. Rohit immediately replied, “It all depends on the budget of the film.” Smiling, he said money becomes important after a certain stage of life. I’m someone who makes movies regularly, every year in fact. The box office matters, but more important is whether the public likes it or not. I never like it when a film is completely rejected by the majority of the public and still does great business. I would never want that.

Rohit Shetty’s Singham Again, released on Diwali, has made close to Rs 250 crore at the box office.
