This farmer earns thousands of rupees by acquiring land on contract and growing vegetables on it. Where, due to the better incentive policy of the Haryana government, farmers in the state are increasingly abandoning traditional farming and turning to organic and horticultural farming.
Meanwhile, Ramswaroop, a farmer from Nathusari Kalan village in Sirsa district, has been earning thousands of rupees annually by taking land on contract and cultivating vegetables for the last four years. Farmer Ram Swaroop said he takes land on contract and sows seasonal vegetables like ghee, zucchini, radishes, melons, watermelons, bitter gourds, brinjals etc. depending on the season. Earn up to Rs 10 lakh annually by growing these vegetables. He first started growing vegetables on his vacant land. Then he came up with the idea of going into large-scale farming, so he hired 4 acres of land and started growing seasonal vegetables.

Due to his passion for doing agriculture in a different way, he achieved a different identity in the town. He said that in the first half, zucchini, bitter gourds, melons, watermelons, etc. are planted. After that, pumpkins, zucchini, radishes, eggplants, etc. are planted in the next half. It acquires land under contract at the rate of Rs 40,000 per acre and earns a return of more than Rs 2 lakh per acre annually. Because of this, his family is well taken care of. Today, thanks to the practice of modern agricultural methods, it has become a source of inspiration for farmers in the surrounding area.
Did not receive the benefit of the subsidy
Farmer Ramswaroop expressed the pain of taking up farming by taking land on contract and said that due to this he is being deprived of the benefits of government schemes. It does not receive the Diggi subsidy or the benefit of the drip system irrigation subsidy. Apart from this, no compensation is also offered if the vegetables are damaged due to natural disasters. Despite this, he earns well thanks to his hard work. He said that if the vegetable market is in their surroundings, then transportation charges can be avoided. This will result in more savings.
