Smog spreads in the morning and evening, increasing problems for heart patients and children

Shadow smog in the morning.

  • Due to the low wind speed, carbon and polluting particles cannot rise to the atmosphere, AQI 356
  • Doctors’ advice: avoid walking in the morning and evening.

(Jind News) Jind. The AQI in the district was 356 on Friday. Which is in serious condition. At the same time, cases of burning of crop residues have been continuously reported since last month. Because of this, the AQI was around 300 for a week. Diwali fireworks further increased pollution. The average AQI level remains at 350. This level of pollution is extremely dangerous for respiratory patients, children and the elderly.

The burning sensation increases due to the continuous entry of polluting particles into the eyes. Especially asthma patients face many problems due to this weather. Although Jind’s AQI has been above 400 for the last few years, this time the administration has taken strict action against crop residue burning and cases of stubble burning are decreasing.

Low wind speed is also becoming a problem

On Friday the maximum temperature was recorded at 31 degrees and the minimum at 18 degrees. The humidity was 48 percent and the wind speed was only three kilometers per hour. Due to the low wind speed, ordinary people cannot get relief from environmental pollution. Because carbon and polluting particles cannot rise to the atmosphere. According to meteorologists, the cold is likely to gradually increase. The weather will be dry and northerly winds may blow at light speeds. Therefore, there is a possibility of a slight decrease in day and night temperatures. Due to the cold, smog can also persist in the morning and evening.

Dr Rajesh Bhola, deputy civil surgeon at Civil Hospital, said environmental pollution weakens immunity. In such a situation, avoid direct contact with air during contamination. Continue to clean your eyes frequently with normal water. In case of excessive itching or burning, consult an ophthalmologist. Fireworks have had a negative impact on air quality. It is natural for respiratory patients to face problems due to this. There is difficulty breathing. There are more problems especially during physical exertion.
