Navjot Kaur Sidhu had always been very supportive of Navjot Singh Sidhu in politics. In the year 2004, Navjot Singh Sidhu contested elections from the Amritsar parliamentary seat for the first time on behalf of the BJP and defeated Congress leader Raghunandan Lal Bhatia. In the 2007 elections, Dr. Navjot Kaur Sidhu took charge of Navjot Sidhu’s election campaign. Navjot Kaur also took charge of BJP national general secretary Tarun Chugh’s office for some time. Navjot Kaur Sidhu entered active politics in 2012. She became an MLA for the first time by contesting the elections from the erstwhile assembly constituency on BJP ticket and won and was the chief parliamentary secretary in the Akali-BJP government. .
