Keeping cleanliness in mind, for the first time across Gujarat, the administration has taken action against those who spit in public places. The Surat Municipality has taken this measure where constant monitoring is carried out through hundreds of cameras installed in the city and fines are imposed on those who spit. The Department of Health has now begun preparations to double the amount of the fine and increase strictness with those who spit.

In many cities you see those who spit after eating paan and gutkha, ignoring any warning and doing whatever they want. But in Surat, Gujarat, people now think again before spitting after eating paan-gutkha. This is because the municipality and the health department have taken a strict stance against these people. Spitting after eating gutkha creates filth on the city streets and in such a situation the chances of spreading the infection also increase.

In such a situation, the municipality closely monitored the 4,500 CCTV cameras installed throughout the city. If anyone is seen breaking the rules on CCTV cameras, the management team will take action against them. People are being monitored 24 hours a day through 4,500 closed circuit television cameras. According to the department, 5,200 people have so far been fined for spitting at different places and have been charged a total fine of Rs 9 lakh.

Health department towards rigor

We tell you that due to this action there is discussion throughout the city. Many people are also supporting this initiative. This is an important step for the cleanliness of the city. The Department of Health has seen the first results of this initiative, after which it has begun to prepare to double the amount of the fine and take stricter measures against those who spit.
