Staging of the drama Kala Bharati written by Acharya Kailash Chandra Dev Brihaspati

Chandigarh News, Chandīgarh: On the last day of the first art festival organized by the Sanskar Bharati unit in Chandigarh, the play Kala Bharati, written by late Acharya Kailash Chandra Dev Brihaspati, was staged at the Tagore Theater on Sunday. This art festival was organized in collaboration with Northern Zone Cultural Centre, Patiala, Sangeet Natak Academy, Chandigarh, Center for Ancient Art, Chandigarh and Academy of Fine Arts, Chandigarh. The theme of the drama Kala Bharati was the struggle of Kanyakubja and the tragic end of love. The story was composed by Acharya Kailash Chandra Dev Brihaspati and is set in the 11th century Kanyakubja kingdom (present-day Kanauj, Uttar Pradesh). At that time, the Kanyakubja kingdom was fighting against continuous attacks by the Malechhas (Mughal Sultanate) and the Yavanas. However, Maharaja Jayachandra of the kingdom remained engrossed in luxury and alcohol, unaware of these problems.

Understanding these grave circumstances, State Senior Acharya Harsh entrusts the responsibility of protecting the state borders to Crown Prince Meghanchandra. Meanwhile, Maharaja Jayachandra marries Kalabharati, a learned widow. With her intelligence and beauty, Kalabharti takes Maharaj completely under her control.

But a turn of events occurs when Kalabharati becomes fascinated by the intelligence and beauty of Acharya Shri Harsha. In the midst of this love struggle, the complexities of power, politics and love come to the fore, making the future of Kanyakubja’s throne even more uncertain. This story presented in this work gives an important message of morality and sacrifice in the midst of the struggle for power, conspiracies and the complexities of love. The program started with Sanskar Bharati’s theme song Sadhyati Sanskar Bharati. Today’s chief guest was Sanjay Tandon.

In the painting group, Kadambari Vardhan, Priya, Rituparna Das, Mithali Arora, Komal Kaur, Navneet Kaur, Piyusha Priya Darshani, Anjali Sharma, Kamini, Shayla, Priya Gaura, Archana, Anu Sardana, Tripat Mehta, Rakhi Sharma, Rakhi Sharma , Gurmeet Goldie, Vivek Sharma and Vandana Bharti participated.
