Minister Kiren Rijiju held a meeting with the parties
Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju on Sunday met leaders of political parties in both the upper and lower houses of Parliament. During the meeting with Rijiju, opposition parties asked the Center to allow the US prosecutors’ bribery allegations against the Adani Group to be debated in Parliament. The Minister clarified that the matters that will be raised in both Houses will be decided by the authorized committees with the consent of the President.
After the meeting, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Rijiju said the government has appealed to all parties to ensure smooth functioning of the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha.
16 MLAs were listed, including Waqf Law
The central government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has listed 16 bills, including the Waqf Act Amendment Bill, for the session that will last till December 20.The Joint Parliamentary Committee is examining the Waqf (Amendment) Bill. The panel is scheduled to present its report in this session, opposition members have demanded an extension of time for the panel to present its report.
