Strategy or disappointment… Why did Ajit Pawar change course before the Maharashtra elections?

NCP leader Ajit Pawar

Politics have intensified over the Maharashtra Assembly elections. Political parties are busy establishing political equations to strengthen their control over voters. The BJP has unveiled its star activists for the election campaign. If anyone’s statement is the most discussed in Maharashtra right now, it is UP CM Yogi Adityanath. Yogi also tried the slogan given in UP in Maharashtra, after which a political storm arose. There was so much politics surrounding the statement that NCP chief Ajit Pawar, who was involved in the grand alliance, changed his tune.

In fact, on Wednesday, CM Yogi had arrived in Amravati to address an election rally in Maharashtra. Where he said that I take inspiration from Shivaji and I say again and again that whenever we divide, we will be divided. If we remain united, we will remain noble and safe. Earlier, while campaigning in the UP by-elections, CM Yogi had said that if we are divided, we will be divided. No one was surprised by Mahavikas Aghadi’s reaction to CM Yogi’s statement in Amravati, but Ajit Pawar, who was part of Mahayuti, came out against the statement.

Ajit Pawar said: only Shivaji’s ideology will work in Maharashtra

When NCP chief and Maharashtra Deputy CM Ajit Pawar was asked about CM Yogi’s statement, he said that the slogan ‘If you divide, you will be divided’ will not work in Maharashtra. People here know everything and understand everything. Only the ideology of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj will work in Maharashtra. Different political meanings are now being inferred from this statement of Ajit Pawar. Ajit Pawar is also said to be worried about his vote bank and candidates, which is why he distanced himself from CM Yogi’s slogan.

Political analysts believe that Ajit Pawar did not support CM Yogi’s statement because he feared the loss of Muslim voters. Along with this, the NCP Ajit Pawar faction has fielded Nawab Malik, who belongs to the Muslim community. In such a situation, if Ajit Pawar supports Yogi’s slogan, then a situation of differences may arise in the party. That’s why Ajit Pawar had to say that all this will not work in Maharashtra.

The BJP had opposed Nawab Malik’s candidature!

It is also said that the BJP had advised Ajit Pawar not to field Nawab Malik in the elections. Even after this, Nawab Malik Mankhurd filed the nomination for the Shivaji Nagar seat and is now busy in the election campaign. This is interpreted to mean that there are also differences on some points in the Grand Alliance, especially between the BJP and Ajit Pawar’s NCP.

Some people also consider this as a Mahayuti strategy. Because if Ajit Pawar supports CM Yogi’s statement then there is a fear that Muslim voters will disperse. In such a situation, if Ajit Pawar has to suffer a loss in any seat, in the end only Mahayuti will suffer the loss. Therefore, the three parties involved in the Grand Alliance are busy campaigning according to their respective agendas.

Elections on November 20, results on the 23rd

Talking about a grand alliance in the Maharashtra elections, there are 148 candidates from the BJP, 80 from the Shiv Sena of the Shinde faction and 52 from Ajit Pawar’s side. In addition, leaders from other parties included in the alliance have also presented nominations. Voting will be held in 288 assembly seats in the state on November 20 and the results will be revealed on November 23.
