An earthquake of magnitude 4 on the Richter scale was felt in Kutch district of Gujarat on Monday night. The Institute of Seismological Research (ISR) gave this information. District administration officials said there was no news of casualties or property damage in the area due to the seismic activity.
Gandhinagar-based ISR said the earthquake occurred at 8:18 pm and its epicenter was located 26 kilometers west-southwest of Rapar town in Kutch district. According to the information provided by the Gujarat State Disaster Management Authority (GSDMA), 9 major earthquakes have occurred in the state in the last 200 years.
