PV Sindhu has performed well in the Syed Modi International Super 300 Badminton Tournament. They have reached the second round by winning the first round match. Sindhu defeated emerging bowler Anmol Kharb 21-17, 21-15 and gave her no chance in the match. Sindhu, who is now returning to the tournament after two years, will face compatriot Ira Sharma, who defeated Deepshikha Singh 21-13, 21-19 in the opening match. In the men’s category, Lakshya Sen also managed to win his match.

PV Sindhu was elated after the victory.

PV Sindhu said after the victory that I am happy to return here after two years. I couldn’t play last year due to an injury, but it feels good to play at home again. I was playing against Anmol for the first time and he played well. We have both played together in the Asian Team Championship, so I was confident. It was my first match and I made some mistakes, but I’m happy with my performance.

Lakshya Sen won the match

2021 World Championship bronze medalist Lakshya Sen defeated qualifier Sholeh Aidil of Malaysia 21-12, 21-12. Lakshya will face the winner of the match between Ravi and Israel’s Daniil Dubovenko. After the match, Lakshya said that it is always good to play in front of the home crowd. I’ve played here before, but now my focus is on the next game. My goal is to perform well in the BWF tournament and the World Championship.
