ICC World Test Championship Points Table: What happened in Perth was recorded in history. Team India registered their biggest win on Australian soil by 295 runs on the fourth day of the first Test match of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy played at the Optus Stadium in Perth and took a 1-0 lead in the five-match series. Chasing India’s target of 534 runs, Australia collapsed for 238 runs in 58.4 overs in front of the strong bowling of Bumrah (three wickets) and Mohammed Siraj (three wickets). In this way, Team India achieved the record for the biggest win in terms of runs on Australian soil and the second biggest win outside Asia. India had previously defeated Australia by 222 runs in Melbourne in December 1977. India’s biggest win outside Asia was by 318 runs against the West Indies at North Sound in August 2019.

Big change in the WTC points table

Due to this spectacular victory of India, a big change has been seen in the points table of the World Test Championship i.e. WTC. After losing the test series at home to New Zealand, team India lost the top position in the points table. Australia took the first position instead of India. But now Team India has once again established its dominance on the points table by defeating Australia at their own home.

Team India reaches the top again

Before this series, the Australian team was leading the World Test Championship points table with 62.50 PCT, but now after the loss in Perth, they have fallen to second position. Australia has suffered a huge loss in PCT and now its PCT is 57.69. On the other hand, team India has benefited a lot from the spectacular victory. Before the Perth Test, Team India’s PCT was 58.30, which has now increased to 61.11 after the win. Furthermore, Team India once again captured the top spot in the WTC points table.

In the WTC points table, Sri Lanka team is ranked third with 55.56 PCT. The New Zealand team is in fourth position. The New Zealand team’s PCT is currently 54.55. South Africa’s PCT is slightly lower than New Zealand’s and ranks fifth. The England team is present at the venue.
