Surprising natural incidents occur in Kerala. Last month i.e. on October 17, 18 and 29, the sound of explosions came from the ground of Anakallu village in Malappuram district. The people of the town and surrounding areas were scared. A complaint was immediately filed with the administration and the government.
After this, the Kerala Disaster Management team i.e. KSDMA arrived. Along with this, the district disaster team was also looking for the reason for the crash. Not only this, the district administration geologist, groundwater department geologist and district hazard analyst initiated the scientific investigation.

What was discovered after the investigation was surprising. The sound that sounded like an explosion came from the stones underground. That was why the earthquakes were felt. In reality, the sound of the crash was produced due to the rubbing of stones and cracks in the part of the earth’s crust beneath the ground. Vibration was felt.
The sounds come from the collision, friction and breaking of stones.
It’s not that this incident happened for the first time. Even before this, these sounds have been heard in many areas of Kerala. Scientists have assured that there is nothing to worry about. This is a natural phenomenon, which occurs gradually. Friction, collision and breaking occur between stones underground. This happens due to pressure.

Stones crack when groundwater dries up and also from wind pressure.
Because of this, it is common to hear these types of sounds and feel vibrations. Many times this happens due to drying out of groundwater. Many times, due to air pressure, the space between the stones fills or empties, causing a banging sound. A similar incident had once occurred in Ranchi, the capital of Jharkhand. When Ranchi tubewells were displaced due to earthquake in Myanmar. Due to which the air pressure was released. But people heard explosive sounds from the ground.
300 people went to safe places, buildings will be repaired
There was no earthquake in Kerala, but the tube wells slipped due to stones sliding under the surface. The air pressure present in them came out in the form of an explosion. The Kerala Disaster Management Authority said the buildings damaged by these explosions and vibrations are weak and old. After examining the damage to the buildings, they will be repaired. Meanwhile, 300 people from Anakallu village were evacuated to safe places.
