Baskhari Ambedkar Nagar. The Chhath festival, which began on Tuesday, ended on Friday morning with worship of the Rising Sun God and offering of Ardha. For the longevity and prosperity of their families, women stood in the water, performed rigorous meditation, and worshiped the rising and setting Sun God. During this, all the family members offered Arghya of cow’s milk and prayed to the Sun God for their wishes to be fulfilled. There was a crowd of fasting people at the Tamsa river ghat at the district headquarters since 3 am. Fasting people performed puja according to rituals and prayed to God for the well-being of the family. Under the leadership of Nagar Panchayat President Omkar Gupta, special arrangements were made for worship and welcome along with cleaning of the ghats and ponds located in the area. The ghats were decorated with colorful stripes and the entire area resonated with devotional songs of Chhathi Maiya played on loudspeakers. Nagar Panchayat president Omkar Gupta and several councilors of the area along with CEO Sanjay Kumar were seen present at the venue and observing the arrangements. President Omkar Gupta also distributed Prasad to the devotees present on the occasion to observe the fast. During this time, from the security point of view, the police personnel were also seen ready following instructions from Inspector Sant Kumar Singh, in-charge of the police station. There were crowds of people at various ghats including Jalalpur, Tanda, Jahangirganj and other places.
The post-Chhath festival ended by offering Arghya to the rising sun first appeared in Ayodhya Samachar.
