Following the success of the Emerging Asia T20 Cup, the Asian Cricket Council has announced the Men’s Under-19 Asia Cup. After the emerging players, now the youth players from Asia will face each other in this tournament. As announced by the ACC, this tournament will be played in the United Arab Emirates from November 29 to December 8, whose schedule has been published. A total of 8 teams will participate in this tournament including India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Japan, United Arab Emirates and Nepal.
U-19 Asia Cup format and group
The Men’s Under-19 Asia Cup was first played in 1989 and was hosted by Bangladesh. While its last 3 editions have been played only in the United Arab Emirates. This time the eleventh edition of the tournament will be held and for the fourth consecutive time its headquarters is in the hands of the United Arab Emirates. Starting November 29, this tournament will be played in ODI format.
The 8 teams participating in this tournament have been divided into two groups of 4 each. India, Pakistan, Japan and United Arab Emirates remain in Group A. Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan and Nepal remain in Group B. Each team in the group must play a 1-1 match against each other. After this, the top 2 teams from both groups will qualify for the semi-finals.
Under-19 Asia Cup schedule
The group stage matches will be played between November 29 and December 4. Two matches will be played each day, one of which will be played at the Dubai Stadium and the other in Sharjah. On December 6, the first semi-final will be held in Dubai and the second semi-final in Sharjah. The final match of the tournament will be played in Dubai on December 8. On the first day i.e. November 29, there will be a clash between Bangladesh and Afghanistan in Group B. While the Nepal team will face Sri Lanka. The most important match of the tournament will be played on November 30. On this day, the Indian and Pakistani teams will meet in Group A and begin their journey. On the other hand, there will be a clash between Japan and the United Arab Emirates.
