Pakistan got the hosting rights of the Champions Trophy 2025, but the BCCI refused to send the Pakistan team and demanded a hybrid model, which was completely rejected by the PCB. Therefore, there is a dilemma regarding the Champions Trophy. Now the crisis around the Champions Trophy has deepened. When former Pakistan captain and former Prime Minister Imran Khan’s Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf party started a protest march towards Islamabad from Sunday. There have been incidents of clashes and violence between protesters and law enforcement and security forces. Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi had announced that the army had been called in to calm the situation. Naqvi is also the chairman of PCB. Sri Lanka A will return home due to political protests in Islamabad, which was playing a three-match series against Pakistan A.

Both Sri Lanka A matches postponed

The Pakistan Cricket Board has confirmed that it has postponed the final two 50-over matches between Pakistan A and Sri Lanka A in consultation with Sri Lanka Cricket due to political activity in the capital Islamabad Is. The postponed matches would be played in Rawalpindi on Wednesday and Friday. But supporters of Imran Khan’s PTI party completely paralyzed the capital, Islamabad, and an important decision was made in the face of protests.

New dates may be announced later

Both the matches would be played on November 27 and 29 at Rawalpindi Cricket Ground. Earlier, Pakistan-A had defeated the visiting team by 108 runs in the first match in Islamabad on Monday and took a 1-0 lead in the series. In the first match, Pakistan A scored a total of 306 runs while batting, in response to which the Sri Lanka A team was reduced to just 198 runs. Haider Ali had scored an excellent century for Pakistan-A. He had played an innings of 108 runs. He received the Player of the Award award for his excellent performance. PCB has stated in the press release that the boards of Pakistan and Sri Lanka will work together to finalize new dates to complete the series.
