Bhojpuri folk singer Sharda Sinha died on Tuesday at the age of 72. He breathed his last at Delhi’s AIIMS Hospital. While sharing Sharda Sinha’s photo, her son Anshuman Sinha confirmed the news of her demise. Following this news, many celebrities including Prime Minister Modi expressed grief over the demise of Sharda Sinha and termed it as an irreparable loss.

Sharda Sinha was born on October 1, 1962 in Hulsa, Supaul district of Bihar. His father Sukhdev Thakur was the director. Sharda Sinha is married to Brajkishore Sinha, who retired from the post of deputy regional director of the Department of Education. Sharda Sinha first started singing Bhojpuri songs in 1974. Sharda Sinha got her first recognition in 1978 with the Chhath song ‘Uga Ho Suraj Dev’. Sharda Sinha sang for Bollywood in the film Maine Pyar Kiya in 1989, which was a huge hit.
