Uproar outside Udaipur City Palace
After the death of Mewar royal family member and former MP Mahendra Singh Mewar, an uproar has started regarding the coronation of his eldest son Vishwaraj Singh Mewar. On Monday night in Udaipur, supporters of Vishvaraj Singh Mewar sitting at the gate of the City Palace were stoned. They threw stones at them from inside the City Palace. Because of this, the atmosphere within the Old City has heated up. Meanwhile, the coronation ceremony has ended. After the ceremony, Vishvaraj Singh Mewar tried to enter the city palace but was stopped at the gate.
In connection with this incident, Vishvaraj Singh Mewar supporters are protesting on the street in front of Udaipur City Palace. Vishvaraj Singh Mewar himself is also sitting there. Apart from a police officer, many other people were injured in this incident. On the other hand, according to tradition, Vishvaraj Singh Mewar also insists on having the darshan of Dhuni inside the City Palace. Seeing the seriousness of the matter, the district collector had asked Vishwaraj Singh Mewar for an hour, but in the meantime they started pelting stones.
Dhuni Darshan tradition after coronation
Due to this the uproar has increased. According to the administration, there is a tradition of Dhuni Darshan after coronation. After this, the king must also visit the Ekling Ji temple. It is said that after the coronation ceremony, Vishvaraj Singh Mewar also reached the City Palace to visit Dhuni Darshan and Ekling Temple, but he was stopped from entering the City Palace.

Vishwaraj Singh Mewar’s wife Mahima Kumar is a BJP MP from Rajsamand. Vishvaraj Singh himself is an MLA from Nathdwara.
