Raipur: A two-day Good Governance Conference began in Raipur, the capital of Chhattisgarh, on Thursday. At the inauguration ceremony, Chhattisgarh Finance Minister OP Choudhary said that good governance is an important factor for development and is essential to improve the lives of citizens. The minister said innovations like Swachh Bharat Mission, Jal Jeevan Mission, Goods and Services Tax (GST), Government e-Marketplace (GeM) portal and digital inclusion, launched at the initiative of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, have brought a great change in the country.

OP Choudhary said bureaucrats will play an important role in making India a $55 trillion economy by 2047. The minister said only those people who change with time will be relevant. Officials from various states participating in the conference will have to make changes in themselves to achieve good governance, so that their talent and personality are not affected.

An official said the conference will discuss citizen empowerment, use of various electronic platforms to facilitate access to civil services, women leadership, best practices of Chhattisgarh government and saturation approach in overall development. . He said officials from departments dealing with personnel, pensions, administrative reforms and public complaints will participate.
Anurag Srivastava, director of Jal Jeevan Mission, Uttar Pradesh, explained in detail the successful solar-based water supply schemes there. V Kirti Vasan, Collector of Koraput district of Odisha, gave information on the innovation being made to generate employment through rural industry.
