Be careful. Four people were killed and several policemen were seriously injured in the violence that broke out during the survey of Jama Masjid in Sambhal, Uttar Pradesh. There was tension in the area after the incident, but after three days the situation seems normal. Meanwhile, the police and administration are arresting the miscreants.
The yogi government has ordered strict measures against miscreants. Posters of stone-throwers and miscreants involved in violence will be posted in public places. In addition, damages caused to state and private property will be compensated. A reward can be declared against evildoers who have not yet been caught. The government has already enacted an ordinance to recover those involved in violence and damage to public properties.
After the incident, the police took major action and identified more than 100 stone-pelters. So far, 27 people have been arrested, including two women. The police have registered a total of 12 FIRs in the violence case. Among the detained defendants are people between 14 and 72 years old.
In an FIR, the police accused Sambhal MP Ziaur Rahman Burke and local MLA’s son Suhail Iqbal of instigating the mob.
On Sunday, on the court’s order, the team had come to inspect Jama Masjid for the second time. After a while, the crowd started throwing stones at the team. Seeing that the situation was getting out of control, the police fired tear gas and used force. Meanwhile, protesters set vehicles on fire. Many police officers, including SP and CO, were injured in this violence.
A judicial investigation has been ordered into this entire matter. Strict surveillance by the police and administration continues in the area. Following the government’s instructions, efforts are being made to arrest the culprits and punish them severely. The sambhal violence has once again raised questions about public properties and social harmony. The government and administration have given a message of strict measures against miscreants.
