In Jammu, Panchayat Purana Darud traders as well as puppets, palanquins and riders were on strike for the past few days at Mata Vaishno Devi Bhawan Road. During the strike there was a lot of commotion. On the fourth day the two groups also faced each other. During this the glass of the CRPF vehicle was broken. DC and SSP called people from both groups and assured to solve the problem. After which the protesters returned.
For the last three days, people and traders at Panchayat Purana Darud near Charan Paduka have been protesting. During this time, thousands of laborers working at Bhawan Marg had reached Sridhar along with leader Bhupendra Singh. The protesters broke the front window of a CRPF vehicle. This CRPF vehicle was carrying soldiers. On receiving information about the fierce demonstration between the two groups, the police team reached the spot and started trying to arrest them. During this time protesters also attacked police.

The police team reached there with tear gas grenades and sticks to stop the protesters. DC arrived at the scene and spoke to the protesters and discussed how to solve their problems. He said he assured to speak with senior officials and the lieutenant governor.
What did the protesters say?
The protesters said they had expressed their views to all officers and leaders. He gave information about his problem. He alleged that when we presented the memorandum to the director general, he asked to speak to the lieutenant governor. But the lieutenant governor came back and they didn’t make us talk. He said that since they did not force us to talk to the lieutenant governor, we decided to go on strike. We withdraw our strike for the convenience of the devotees.
