‘Anupama’ star Rupali Ganguly is once again embroiled in a controversy. This time the reason is not his co-actors or any twist in the show. This time the actress is in the headlines as an old post of her stepdaughter Isha Verma went viral. Rupali’s husband was married twice before, by whom she has two daughters. In her viral post, Ashwin’s daughter from his previous marriage, Isha, accused Rupali of being “controlling” and “mentally disturbed” around her father. This is a post from four years ago. Rupali’s husband Ashwin has now come forward to address these allegations. They have issued a statement about X.

Ashwin wrote: ‘I have two daughters from previous relationships, something Rupali and I have always talked openly about and that I care a lot about. I understand that my youngest daughter is still very hurt by the breakdown of her parents’ relationship because divorce is a difficult experience that can greatly impact and harm the children of that marriage. But marriages end for many reasons, and there were many challenges in my relationship with my second wife that led to our separation, challenges that were between her and me and had nothing to do with anyone else. I only want the best for my children and my wife and it saddens me to see the media drag someone into a cycle of negativity. Rupali Ganguly and Ashwin K Verma got married in the year 2013. Isha Verma’s old Facebook post went viral
In a post from the year 2020, Esha Verma investigated Rupali Ganguly. He wrote: ‘This is absolutely pathetic. Does anyone know the real story of Rupali Ganguly? She had an affair with Ashwin K Verma for twelve years, while he was in his second marriage. Ashwin has two daughters from previous marriages. She is a cruel-hearted woman who has done nothing but separate me and my sister, her own daughters, from their father.’ Isha Verma also alleged that Rupali Ganguly threatened to kill her and her mother. She said: ‘I am speaking out because she claims in all media that she has a happy married life with my father, when in reality she is controlling and mentally disturbed with him. Every time I try to call my father, she starts screaming and threatening to kill me and my mother. It is not fair that she has ruined the life of Ashwin’s real family and is propagating that theirs is a real love marriage, while she has ruined others to fulfill her wish. Honestly, she has done the same thing that Rhea Chakraborty has done with SSR. She gives my father strange medicines and controls his life a lot.

Isha wrote: ‘Hello, to everyone who watched the news recently and contacted me, thank you for taking the time to understand my point of view. It’s surreal and overwhelming to see something so personal go viral. This is not just a headline, this is my life, my childhood and the pain I endured then and still feel today. I am grateful to those who have approached this with compassion, consideration and respect. This is very difficult to process, but I choose to defend my experiences, because some truths need to be heard. Although I first talked about this four years ago, I have grown, matured, and healed a lot since then. Standing up now and sharing my truth shows the strength I have found on that journey and I believe it should not be taken away from me.’

Isha further said, ‘My father and his wife may deny these claims, but I believe their reaction is based on fear of the truth coming out. I love my father very much and respect him like any little daughter. But he decided to cut me out of his life and this separation is incredibly painful. Seeing her rise in the entertainment world with a public image so far removed from reality only adds to the sadness, especially when she plays a character who upholds the same values she despised in real life. I know I’m taking a big risk by speaking out, but if my voice is finally heard, then it will be enough.
