The entire Delhi is engulfed in fog and smog every day, especially in the morning and evening. Yesterday, for the first time this season, the Air Quality Index (AQI) remained in the severe category. The Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) said an increase of 84 points was recorded on Wednesday compared to Tuesday. If the AQI situation remains the same, then the third phase of GRAP can be implemented.

The Weather Service has warned that due to increasing fog, road, air and rail traffic may be affected in the coming days. Polluted air can lead to an increase in lung-related diseases. Residents of the capital are already experiencing eye irritation due to pollution and other dust particles present in smog and fog. Many face difficulty breathing.

According to official sources, in addition to transportation, smoke from the open burning of garbage and stubble is the main cause of the increase in pollution. According to the Meteorological Department, even today there was smog and light and moderate levels of haze and fog at some places in Delhi in the morning. Smog and fog are expected to return throughout the afternoon and evening. The sky will be clear and the maximum temperature will be around 29 degrees Celsius and the minimum will be around 16 degrees.
