Voting for the Assembly by-elections began on Wednesday at 7 o’clock. As soon as voting began, long lines of voters formed at the booths. The percentage of votes continues to increase
After the start of voting in the by-elections, the percentage of votes increased over time. Despite the byelection, there was enthusiasm among voters about the vote. As of 9:00 a.m., 11.49 percent had voted. At 11 in the morning the percentage of votes increased to 24.27 percent. At 1 p.m. the percentage of votes had reached 36.56. Enthusiasm for voting among voters remained constant. At three in the afternoon this percentage of votes increased to 49.43 percent. As of 5:00 p.m., 56.9 percent had voted.
The round of accusations and counter-accusations continued throughout the day.
In the by-elections, both SP and BJP leveled accusations and counter-accusations even on polling day. At the same time, SP candidate Shobhawati Verma and her husband MP Lalji Verma continued to accuse the administration of intimidating SP voters. SP candidate Shobhavati Verma said police were intimidating voters by going from village to village and slow voting was also taking place in Muslim-dominated booths due to which long queues formed and people did not I could vote. People from the Muslim community are especially threatened. Many videos of her husband MP Lalji Verma also surfaced, accusing the administration and police of atrocities. The SP district president also said that the police administration is creating disturbances in the minority areas. On the other hand, BJP candidate Dharamraj Nishad also said that the job of the opposition Samajwadi Party candidate is to make allegations.
District Magistrate Avinash Singh said the elections were conducted in a transparent and fair manner. Regarding the SP’s allegations, the DM stated that those who played with the integrity of the elections were dealt with rigorously. Some people tried to make fake votes, but were prevented from doing so.

To ensure that the by-elections are conducted in a fair, transparent and well-planned manner, on Wednesday, the voting day, he supervised the voting process from the integrated control room established at the Colecta Auditorium and gave necessary instructions to interested officials. The responsibility of the integrated control room was carried out by Deputy District Election Officer Dr. Sadanand Gupta. BJP responds to SP MP’s indecent comment on inspector
During voting in the Katehari Assembly by-election, in SP MP Lalji Verma’s viral video, indecent comments were made against the police inspector who came from another district.
