The leaders who left JMM failed once again, everyone from Sita to Babulal Soren was defeated.

Sita Soren

Many rebel JMM leaders had to face defeat in the Jharkhand Assembly elections of 2024. This includes everyone from Sita Soren to Babu Lal Soren. There are a total of 4 leaders among those who faced defeat. It has been difficult for these leaders to resign from the JMM before the elections.

Babulal Soren- He is the son of former CM Champai Soren. The BJP had named him as its candidate from Ghatshila seat. He had to face defeat at the hands of Ramdas Soren of the JMM. Babulal got 75,910 votes while Ramdas got 98,356 votes. That means Babulal had to face a defeat by more than 20,000 votes.

Sita Soren CM Hemant Soren’s sister-in-law Sita Soren had to face defeat at the hands of Congress’s Irfan Ansari in the Jamtara seat. Irfan Ansari got 1 lakh 33 thousand 266 votes, while Sita Soren got 89 thousand 590 votes.

Surya Mandal- He was once Shibu Soren’s right-hand man. He was looking at his political future in the BJP, but he couldn’t do anything.

Lobin Hemberm Lobin had joined the BJP from JMM. The party had given him Borio’s ticket. But it did not live up to expectations. He was defeated by Dhananjay Soren of JMM. Lobin got 78,044 votes, while Dhananjay got 97,317 votes.

Soren will be CM for the second consecutive time

The ruling coalition led by Chief Minister Hemant Soren came to power in Jharkhand for the second consecutive time by winning 56 seats in the 81-member assembly. At the same time, the NDA, which tried its best during the election campaign, could only win 24 seats. In the assembly elections, the JMM and the Congress won 27 seats in the tribal belt, while the BJP managed to register victory only in Seraikela, where it had fielded former Chief Minister Champai Soren.

Champai left JMM and joined the BJP before the assembly elections. He had accused the Hemant Soren-led party of insulting him. In the recent assembly elections, 20 seats in the tribal belt went to JMM alone. According to political analysts, apart from populist plans, the party benefited from the wave of sympathy generated by raising the issue of alleged injustice against Chief Minister Hemant Soren.

At the same time, the Congress, an ally of the JMM, emerged victorious with seven seats. Whereas, in the 2014 assembly elections, the party failed to even open an account in the tribal belt. At the same time, it had won six seats in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.
