Chandigarh NewsZirakpur: Residents of Ghazipur Jatta, a village under Zirakpur Municipal Council, held a meeting with Bharatiya Kisan Union Sidhupur leaders on Monday. During this meeting, the farmer leaders and villagers formulated the following strategy. Giving information in this regard, Ranjit Singh, a resident of Ghazipur Jat village, said that during the meeting the complete records were shown to the leaders of the farmers’ organization. The peasant leaders also expressed their satisfaction and tried to communicate by telephone with the town hall officials, but they did not answer the phone. He said the date for the City Council’s takeover of the cremation ground is set for November 27. He said that the Municipal Council will be able to take action at 10 in the morning.

He said that this cremation ground belongs to his village since Marambandi (1950), to which his faith is attached because the people of the village had cremated their ancestors in this cremation ground. Ranjit Singh said that now the council wants to build a landfill at his cremation ground, which will damage his faith. He said Guga Maadi and Shiv temple are also located nearby. So your religious beliefs will also be harmed. Ranjit Singh said the farmers union leaders assured the villagers that they will support them. Man Singh Rajpura Finance Secretary, Punjab Bharti Kisan Union (Sidhupur), Block President Jaswinder Singh Tiwana, Derabasi, Ranjit Singh, Sukhdev Singh, Karamjit Singh, Bahadur Singh, Lovepreet Singh, Gurtej Singh and Dharminder Singh and a large number of villagers were present.
