The MP returned the gift of gold and silver received from Railways, heard harshly – CPI ML MP Sudama got angry when the railway gifted him gold and silver.

CPI(ML) Arrah MP Sudama Prasad has rejected the expensive gift of gold and silver offered by the Indian Railways during a departmental programme. He also wrote a letter to the Railways and reprimanded it strongly. In such a situation, this news has now become a topic of discussion.

Arrah MPs are very angry with this attitude of the Railway Department. In this gift, the railway organizations gave the guests present at the program a 1 gram gold coin and a 100 gram silver block. Upon returning it, he wrote a letter to the Railway Department asking them to put an end to this kind of tradition.

MP Sudama Prasad has said in the letter that it is a tradition to welcome guests by giving them gifts. This tradition is also a symbol of warmth and hospitality. For which shawls, paintings and some souvenirs are usually given. But being given a 1 gram gold coin and a 100 gram block of silver hurt me a lot.

The MP also raised questions on the ethics and public morality of making such gifts in the name of Indian Railways. He said that when passengers are facing many challenges like railway safety, fare hike, lack of facilities and abusive behavior of Indian Railways, giving such gifts to Standing Committee members is not only unethical but also It goes against issues of public interest. There is a conspiracy to silence parliamentarians.

He also said that employees who work in cleaning railway stations do not even receive the minimum wage. Furthermore, they are forced to work on a contract basis and are also harassed by contractors. Similarly, ordinary people are not allowed to travel with dignity in general or in sleeper coaches.

No new trains are launched for the poor and middle class, instead the focus is on trains like Vande Bharat Express. In such a situation, I, as a Member of Parliament, express my displeasure and sadness over such a gift and return it.
