Lucknow: Gamma rays will now be used to maintain the freshness of fruits and vegetables in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. The construction process of the Gamma Radiation Plant has begun in the state, which will help in the long-term storage of agricultural products and promote their export.
Investment of 500 million rupees
Under this project, the export of fruits and vegetables from the state is expected to increase. For this, POCT Group has signed an MoU with the state government for an investment of Rs 500 crore. Under this MoU, a gamma radiation plant will be constructed at a cost of Rs 200 crore.
Lucknow will also become an important location in the export market.
Gamma radiation will be used to keep agricultural products fresh and increase their shelf life, which will increase production and improve farmers’ incomes. The operation of this plant will not only benefit the agricultural economy of the state but will also give Lucknow a prominent place in the Indian export market.
