Chandigarh News|Chandīgarh: In collaboration with Environment Department, Chandigarh Administration, a workshop on making jute and paper bags was organized at Maharshi Dayanand Public School, Dariya. It was carried out under the supervision of teachers. He taught the children to make paper and jute bags. During the program, students said that plastic bags cause pollution. By not being destroyed quickly, it also reduces soil fertility and creates obstacles to plant growth. These bags contain many viruses, so food should not be placed in them. Its consumption has adverse health effects. Animals are losing their lives by eating polyethylene. River water is also polluted due to these plastic bags. Explaining the importance of gunny bags, the students said that they do not harm the essential elements of the earth. Being environmentally friendly, it does not allow the production of poisonous gases or harmful chemicals. Jute and paper bags break down quickly. Does not harm fertility. The smoke that comes out is not poisonous.
The workshop was inaugurated by NRI school patron Sudarshan Garg. He said that thanks to the active participation of the students of the school’s Eco Club in cleaning the environment, awareness is being raised among people. The main objective of the workshop was to warn people about the harmful effects of polythene and promote the use of jute and paper bags. The school’s vice principal Anju Moudgil said that the main objective of this workshop is to increase the trend of jute and paper bags. He asked people not to use plastic bags.
