Bribery charges against 8 people, including Adani
In the hearing held in the Federal Court in New York, 8 people, including Gautam Adani, have been charged with fraud and bribery worth billions. Adani Group has denied these allegations. In fact, the US Attorney’s Office says that Abhani paid a bribe of $265 million (around Rs 2.2 billion) to Indian officials to secure a contract related to solar energy in India.
Adani group denies all allegations
However, Adani Group issued a statement denying all allegations and terming them baseless. The group said the allegations made by the US Department of Justice and the US Securities and Exchange Commission against the directors of Adani Green Energy Limited are baseless. We refute them. Adani Group said that the US Department of Justice itself said that at this time these are just accusations. Defendants are considered innocent until proven guilty.
