Amit Shah highlighted the need for cutting-edge technology to effectively deal with terrorist threats. He said that the conspiracies and attacks of terrorists are against us invisibly and without borders. He said that if we want to address these issues accurately, then our young officers will have to be equipped with the latest technology. You also have to train them. We will make this an important part of the training in the coming days.
National counterterrorism policy and strategy
The Union Home Minister said that the Ministry of Home Affairs will frame a national counter-terrorism policy and strategy to tackle terrorism. He said police are a matter of the state and the battle will have to be fought solely by the state police. Amit Shah said that from providing information to taking action, all central agencies will cooperate with the state police.
NIA organized a conference
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has organized the conference. Apart from senior police officials from Union territories and states, officials from central agencies and related departments dealing with counter-terrorism issues will participate in this two-day programme. In addition, experts from related fields such as forensic science, technology and law will also participate.
