Actually, according to the rules, when roads are resurfaced, the old roads must be excavated first, then the road is repaired, but here the corporation places the material on the roads without excavating them. Therefore, now there is none. Trails remain in this regard, former Chandigarh Municipal Corporation deputy mayor and BJP leader Jagtar Singh Dhillon says that as per rules, the department has to excavate the old roads while repairing them. But here the roads were built without excavation, so there are no trails left and people have problems.
Kept inviting accidents
Social worker Rameshwar Giri says that in the Chandigarh Municipal Corporation not even the officials control the work. Here in Manimajra people’s lives are played with. The height of the roads will be higher than that of the trails. The possibility of accidents has increased, but the corporation is not concerned.
District Congress president Surjit Dhillon says that the company has done the work without checking it, due to which people are facing a lot of problems. He says due to the height of the roads, this can mean many vehicles approaching the pavements. a danger to pedestrians. He says this work should be investigated.
Malkit Singh, president of Manimajra Board of Trade, says the Municipal Corporation repaired Manimajra roads without any investigation. Action must be taken against such officials, who did not take into account the safety of the people. Many people may be victims of accidents, but the corporation is not concerned about this.
A proposal has been submitted to budget the trail.
SDO Municipal Corporation Akhil Dhiman says that in the month of August, the renovation of roads was done, but the budget for construction of footpaths was sent. The trails will be made as soon as the budget is approved. When asked if the Corporation lacks funds to carry out the work, in such a situation, he did not have any answer.
