In Pauri district of Uttarakhand, an elderly man in an intoxicated state drank ‘toilet cleaner’ disguised as alcohol, due to which he died. The deceased has been identified as Bhagwan Singh, 67, who resided in Jamla village. The police filled the Panchnama and handed over the body to the family members after the post-mortem.

Pauri police station in-charge Amarjeet Singh, quoting family members, said Bhagwan Singh returned home on Sunday night after attending his niece’s wedding ceremony, but was in an inebriated state. . Toilet bowl cleaner was kept in a glass bottle with water in the house. Singh, in an intoxicated state, accidentally drank ‘toilet cleaner’. He drank it thinking it was alcohol. Singh’s health began to deteriorate after drinking toilet bowl cleaner, after which his family took him to Pauri district hospital, about 13 km from the village, where Singh died on Monday.
Pauri Chief Medical Officer Dr Praveen Kumar said that after the autopsy, the body was handed over to the family members. Due to the death of Bhagwan Singh, the family is in bad condition. The villagers are also shocked by this kind of incident.
Fine of 50 thousand for those who serve alcohol, boycott of the family

There is a provision to impose a fine on the affected family for not following the rules.
