Earlier this year, Nikhil Advani released his directorial project Veda. The film starred John Abraham, Sharvari and Abhishek Banerjee in the lead roles. The film generated a lot of buzz, but did not perform as expected at the box office. The main reason for this was that the film clashed with Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkumar Rao starrer Stree 2. The director talked about this in a recent conversation. In which, despite being a good film, the pain of failure at the box office was also felt. Director Nikhil Advani said, ‘Veda’ released on August 15 and it impressed us, it shook us. Four days later, someone asked, ‘What could I change about ‘Veda’? I said, “I could change that ‘Stree 2’ wasn’t a good movie.” “I think I’ve made a good movie, my job is to tell the story that people have told me, as best as I can.”
Disadvantages of brand new with Stree-2
‘We have made a very good film. There are some things that leave your eyes wide open. People say there is action in the second part; Otherwise, it would have been an independent film on Dalit atrocities and rights. ‘Stree 2’ arrived and it was incredible. I think that after the confinement and the pandemic, the public wants to be free, they want to enjoy freely. When asked if he regretted the clash, Advani said: “I think Sharvari was amazing, John is brilliant in the film and a lot of people worked hard on it. I feel bad for them, not so much for me. The filmmaker said his films Batla House and D’Day were also good but people did not go to theaters to watch them. Abhishek Banerjee emerged as the real winner in the box office battle that began this Diwali. He was seen in both Veda and Stree 2.
