Taking aim at the BJP, Mehbooba Mufti said that the publicity given by the BJP in the Jharkhand Assembly elections would have shaken leaders who wanted to connect Kashmir with India to their graves. Leaders who decided to stay in India despite Jammu and Kashmir being a Muslim-majority state, may also be regretting their decision after this announcement. Mehbooba said these leaders had taken this decision for a secular and peaceful India. He also said that the publicity given by BJP today is purely communal and is spreading poison in the society.
What is the BJP’s election video?
Ahead of the second phase of voting in the Jharkhand elections, the BJP posted a video on its X account, showing Muslim intruders breaking into a house and staying there without permission. The name of this video is called “Jharkhand Ka Kayakalp Kar Denge”. Through this video, the BJP wanted to attack JMM over infiltration issues, but the Election Commission considered it a violation of the model code of conduct and ordered its removal.
Congress complained
After BJP released this video, Congress and JMM protested. The Congress filed a complaint with the Election Commission over this matter and termed the video as community-based. The Congress alleges that the BJP wants to gain an advantage in the elections by spreading discrimination in the society through this advertisement. Voting for the second phase in Jharkhand will be held on November 20. Voting for the first phase was held on November 13. State election results will be announced on November 23.
