India vs Australia 1st Test: The first Border-Gavaskar Trophy match between India and Australia will be played in Perth from November 22. Now, even before the series begins, some bad news has emerged for the Australian team. Australia’s bowling coach Daniel Vettori will be with the team during the first Test. He will participate in the IPL 2025 mega auction as coach of Sunrisers Hyderabad. The IPL auction will be held on November 24 and 25 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
Australia bowling coach from 2022
Daniel Vettori is one of those unique coaches in the world of cricket, who is also the head coach of a franchise and also plays an assistant role in the international team. He has been the Australian team’s bowling coach in all three formats under Andrew McDonald since 2022. Considering his experience, Cricket Australia has also allowed him to coach in cricket franchises.
He will leave in the middle of the test for the first time
An Australian team spokesperson told ESPNcricinfo that we support Daniel’s role as head coach of Sunrisers Hyderabad. Before participating in the IPL auction, Dan will complete all preparations for the first test. He will subsequently remain with the team for the remaining Border Gavaskar Trophy matches. This will be the first time he will come out in the middle of a Test to participate in the IPL auction.
Ponting and Langer will not be part of the first test either
Daniel Vettori was at the WACA field on Monday for a training session with the Australian team. He worked closely with the bowling unit. Also, the batsmen had to practice to prepare themselves to face Ravindra Jadeja’s balls. On the other hand, Ricky Ponting and Justin Langer work as commentators on the Australian channel. But Ponting is the coach of Punjab Kings and Langer is the coach of Lucknow Super Giants. For this reason, it will not be part of the test to participate in the auction.
