The accused told the police that he had planned to rob the bank during the Diwali holidays. For this, he first cut the cables of the CCTV camera of the Punjab National Bank and then broke the lock and entered the bank. He then thought about breaking into the bank locker and looting cash and jewelry. He tried with all his might, but when he saw that the locker did not break, he returned exhausted. When bank employees found out about this the next day, the matter was reported to the police. Later, with the help of electronic surveillance, the police identified the accused and arrested him.
Painter made three girlfriends on Instagram
According to the police, the accused has been identified as painter Shahid Khan. He was very active on Instagram. During this time, he made 3 Instagram girls his girlfriends. One of these girls lives in Canada. While the second girl is from Kerala and the third is from Barabanki. The accused had described himself as a rich man in front of these girls. He also promised to give gifts to these girls on Diwali, but he had no money, so he planned to rob the bank. The accused said during police interrogation that the bank locker would break easily, but it was his mistake.
The police caught the accused in just three hours
According to the police, this incident took place on the night of November 4. However, the police obtained information about the case on the morning of November 5. After receiving the information, the police located the accused in just three hours and arrested him in the next half hour. However, to do this the police had to examine the images from more than 70 closed circuit television cameras. In addition, forensic teams and canine teams also participated in the investigation. The police also recovered a grinding machine used in the crime from the accused. During police interrogation, the accused said that he had previously tried to steal an ATM.
