Three girls drowned in a swimming pool in Mangaluru, Karnataka. In reality, the three girls had gone swimming in a resort pool near Ullal beach on Sunday, but drowned.
According to the news agency report, the deceased girls have been identified as Nishita MD (21), Parvati S. (20) and Keerthana N. (21) All three were residents of Mysore and were final year engineering students.

According to the police, these girls had arrived at the Vajco Resort in Ullal on November 16 and were staying there. The accident occurred when Nishita got into the pool despite not knowing how to swim. When she started to drown, Parvati jumped in to save her, but she couldn’t get out either. After this, Keerthana tried to save them both, but all three drowned.
Police said there were no adequate safety measures near the pool. There were no lifeguards present and no personal safety equipment. In the CCTV footage, the women are seen shouting for help, but no one came to help.
Mangaluru Police Commissioner Anupam Aggarwal visited the spot and described it as a tragic accident. He said safety rules were not being followed near the complex’s pool.
The commissioner said: ‘There were no items such as safety equipment, life jackets and depth information in the complex. After the incident, the management closed the complex. According to official sources, the process of temporarily suspending the resort’s license and other tourism-related permits has begun.
