Washington: Donald Trump supporter and prominent Pakistani-American industrialist Sajid Tarar has said that the newly elected US president has no personal relationship with former Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan. Sajid Tarar, head of the Muslims for Trump organization, also said that Trump will strengthen relations with India and will closely monitor allegations of human rights violations in Bangladesh.

“A particular party in Pakistan is creating an impression that he (Khan) has personal relations with Donald Trump,” Tarar said in an interview with PTI. This is not true. The truth is that during his tenure as President, Trump had invited Khan to the ‘White House’ (the official residence and office of the President of the United States) at the invitation of the Prime Minister of Pakistan. He said Trump had removed Khan. The jail will not interfere in Pakistan’s internal affairs or its judiciary. Khan was arrested last year after being convicted in a corruption case, and has since been in prison for various cases.

Trump is aware of developments in Bangladesh
Tarar also said that Trump is aware of developments in South Asia, including Bangladesh. He said Trump knows that when he ran for president in 2016, Mohammad Yunus, the top adviser to Bangladesh’s interim government, had openly supported Hillary Clinton against him. He said that during his recent visit to the United States, Yunus had met with (American) President Joe Biden and former President Bill Clinton. A few days before the US election on November 5, Trump issued a statement condemning “human rights violations” against Hindus in Bangladesh. (Language)
