A local court in Ballia, Uttar Pradesh, convicted a man of fatally attacking his father and sentenced him to 10 years in prison for the crime. The officials concerned gave this information on Friday.
According to PN Swamy, deputy director in-charge of the prosecution department, the court of district judge Amit Pal Singh on Thursday sentenced Sunil Tiwari to 10 years in prison. Swamy said a fine of Rs 10,000 was also imposed on the culprit.
PN Swamy told PTI that this incident occurred in the year 2022. At that time, the victim Baliram Tiwari had gone to his farm in Tika Deori village, where his son Sunil molested him and then attacked his neck with a sharp weapon with the intention of killing him.
According to the prosecution, Baliram suffered serious injuries during this deadly attack. After this incident, his sister-in-law Nirmala Tiwari filed a complaint against accused Sunil at Chitradurga police station, on the basis of which a case of attempt to murder was registered against him.
After investigating this case, the police filed a case against Sunil in the court. And now the court has convicted the culprit.
